Asbestos cause cancer?

Before we go into detail for the answer on the above question, just look around you. Your kids, your house, your pets if you  have any, your bed, your dining room, your closet, your wardrobe, your kitchen, bla..bla..bla..Where do you think that you can find this asbestos?.

We are not "FREE" yet from this carcinogenic agent. A type of fibre that can cause "CANCER" without you notice it. You sleep on top of it? You sit on it? You inhale the air full of it? YOU DON"T EVEN KNOW!!!

Now what..let me tell you something about it. Based on research, I mean technical research which has been done by those modern countryies(U State, UK, Japan, Korea etc), asbestos is confirm as cancernogic to human. Confirm can cause cancer to human,. but why we didn't even educate our people here? 

Schools? Primary Schools? Secondary Schools? University? KINDERGARTEN? Those little ones are the most susceptible. And of course the airborne content asbestos is confirm exist where the building age is more than 40 years (same as my age). Which means at those years, (1970s to 1980s) our building structure is confirm containing what we call ACM (Asbestos Contained Material).

So what should we do now? First thing first:
(1) Get more info about it (asbestos)
(2) How to avoid it (asbestos). Which means how to ensure that the air we breathe does not contain the ACM. But how? The answer is "DON'T DISTURB IT". The bulk (solid) material of asbestos will not harm you unless it is wear and tear and expose certain friable surface which will release the fibre to become airborne.
(3) If you wish to do some demolition. Please study the buidling structure first whether it's contain asbestos or not. And if YES..what you should do....
(4) Call those professional people to handle it. (Because when you deal with asbestos, you got to use proper protection to avoid inhaling the fibre. Demolishing of a building with ACM contribute to hazardous environment which at one point need you to isolate the area or the building (Encapsulating the building) from releasing the fibre into the air and blown by the wind to certain radius of area which at the end spreading all over the area and create hazards to all people within that proximity.
(5) Where to get advise? If your building is a working space building - refer to DOSH and DOE. But if your building is an apartment / housing estate (own by stakeholder) - report to the owner and discuss about the ACM issue. If your building is an institution, discuss with your safety committee (e.g: university safety committee), but if your bulding is a school - go and discuss with the PIBG, - or maybe can call myself to elaborate and give the awareness program to your school organisation.
(6) If you are the owner of your own house, then get the info from the Ministry of Housing or the Property Development. What about old house in kampung own by old folks? We hope that the offspring will convey the message that I wrote here as reference. Do study a bit about this potential cancer cause contaminants in the air.
